FAQ

I am working with a volatile, flammable solvent. Are the Hei-Torque overhead stirrers suitable for use with flammable vapors?

No, they are not. To do so, they would need to carry an explosion-proof certification, which they do not have.

What is the accuracy of the torque measurement?

The torque readout on the Hei-Torque Precision has an accuracy of ±5% of the full scale value (for Hei-Torque 200 this would be ±10 N•cm, as full-scale is 200) when calibrated, or ±10% when it is not calibrated.

The accuracy is relatively low because the Hei-Torque Precision does not measure torque directly.

What is the speed accuracy of the Hei-Torque Precision?

The accuracy is +/-1% of the readout value. So, for example, if the speed is 1000 rpm, the real value would be between 990 and 1010 rpm. There is no calibration required to maintain the speed accuracy.
